Disputes
our vision
Intellectual property disputes
Preventing a dispute is, of course, always better than having to resolve one, but sometimes it is unavoidable. Poor communication is by far the main cause of disputes. Making intentions and expectations clear during the course of a collaboration can therefore save a great deal of trouble. In other cases, the damage has already been done and you have no choice but to take action, for example in the case of plagiarism. We also offer support in resolving disputes.

Our approach
The first step is to analyse where the dispute – in many cases, the underlying miscommunication – arose. We then examine exactly what is needed to realign the parties’ expectations. From there, we can work constructively towards a concrete solution.
Legal proceedings
If you receive a summons in the post or if negotiations with the other party fail to produce a result, your dispute will be settled by the court. In such a scenario, it is of the utmost importance to be able to accurately assess your legal position and, on that basis, determine the appropriate strategy.
Amicable settlement
Where circumstances permit, we will always seek an amicable solution and aim to reach a settlement. A ‘settlement’ is an agreement that brings a dispute to an end and sets out terms that are acceptable to both parties. The main advantage of this is that you remain in control of the situation.
